4 Hour Work Week Fascination

I am not ready to put an auto-responder up for my email account, but Tim Ferris is onto something. We’re not just talking ‘Bit Literacy’ here…we’re talking bit revolution. Bit ‘de-tox’ (and for someone who had heavy metal poisoning, I can tell you the benefits of any detox are worth taking on the challenge in the first place…).
I am curious to read his book, but I have a feeling that a number of his suggestions can only be appreciated/implemented by individuals who have less people above them in the business food chain. Where I am at in my career, it would be nutsy (gutsy and nuts) to tell everyone that I am only reading emails at 10 am and 4 pm! And I have only read his IM interviews at Problogger. But with the promise of ‘4 hours’ of work per week…hmmm. It’s got pull. I bet DoughBoy is thinking about this, too, since he’s into “10″ minute rules and other ways to streamline (or inspire) work flow.
His blog is a good read as well…here. And his recent posts about strength gain/weight loss is inspiring as well. He mentioned “Pizza My Heart” in his comments, so I am betting he surfs too. I only know that Pizza shop to be in the area of Santa Cruz, CA. Correct me if I’m wrong, Tim…
UPDATE: Doh…Sant Cruz– and “Pizza My Heart” — has grown way too much since I graduated. They are located way beyond SC.

Yeah, it’s a fun read. Kinda of wacky, but useful.
If you really want to be entertained, listen to it on your ipod (book on CD).
But use “shuffle”. Somehow, it still makes sense! (that was a happy accident)

[…] I wrote about Tim Ferriss and his book “4 Hour Work Week” on TheGreenV sometime ago here, but when I heard he was going to be part of our speaker series, I grinned. It’s a fun book with some useful ideas about streamlining work and cyber ‘de-toxing’ from too many emails and RSS feeds. He’ll definitely be just as irreverent and entertaining live as he was on the page (or the CD, since I am currently working through the book on my Ipod). […]
